With our supplies of stickers, EPs, &amp; LPs reaching dangerously low levels (and no funds to resupply them), plus our contiunued lack of any other merch, means that souvenirs and keepsakes are few and far between, unless you've been unlucky enough to grab one of our set lists or snap an awkward photo with us (our fault, not yours).&nbsp; To help remedy that, we were lucky enough to capture one of our recent sets at FBi Social.&nbsp; Not only is it one of our favourite venues, but it happens to fall under the umbrella of our favourite radio stattion, FBi 94.5 Sydney.&nbsp; Without this radio station I don't like to ponder where we might be today.&nbsp; Possibly still kicking around, but certainly with our heads and spirits much, much lower. Since it's been a while, we are also pleased to announce that in issue 415 of The Brag they saw fit to name Raise Your Glass & Collapse their Indie Album of the Week, accompanied by a very nice review by Jonno Seidler.  It's probably not really smart nor healthy to dwell too much on reviews, good or bad, but in this case we'd like to say a very sincere "Thanks."  He got it. 

With shows and whatnot, what can we say about TRACKS MAGAZINE?  Other than the fact that we're always stoked when they use our music in one of their surfing blogs, we just about damn near fell off our chairs when we saw this banging review by Col Bernasconi.  Thanks Col!  Very cool.

]]> Thu, 07 Jul 2011 23:50:00 GMT 11100061CAA0C8C8EA6518825A795454 Shows + Reviews + Upcoming http://royalchant.com/news.cfm?feature=2009556&postid=1008218 The sun came out today.&nbsp; That was a nice change from the usual drizzle &amp; drear that has been blanketing us for the past week or so.&nbsp; In commemoration of this very welcome event, we thought we'd use our few days off to take a breather and catch up on things.&nbsp; To the fine folks at SYN in Melbourne, we'd like to buy them all a tall pint of cider in appreciation for inviting us to share the stage at the venerable Tote Hotel as part of their Free Kick Final on May 22.&nbsp; We felt slightly honoured to be invited from out-of-town (and not just out-of-town, but out-of-STATE!), mostly because the whole event revolved around AFL, and as we all know, NSW has no claim to that sport even though they do have a fine team in the Swans.&nbsp; (So we're told.&nbsp; We're not picking sides here....if we did, we'd go for ST. There is no overarching "statement" to the album, only a collection of 10 songs that are written with a similar outlook, verbal tics, and distortion pedals.  It lies in an uneasy no-man's land of garage rock/pop/fuzz, but isn't that the sound of our unconscious?  Or is it just us? 

To celebrate the release, we are offering it to YOU, our dearest fans whom we are enternally indebted to, at a discount price of $10 over at Royal Chant Bandcamp.  And yeah, that means you can get your hands on it now and have a listen and hopefully wrap your ears around it and see if it draws you deep and makes you want to stay.  Honestly, when making this album, if you asked us what we were trying to do, we would probably answer that we were hoping that the engineer remembered to press record and that we all managed to stop and start together while hopefully playiing the same song.  We had songs we wanted to play, so we played them.  Any reasoning or rationale will reveal itself of its own accord, if at all.  Otherwise, we hope you put it on and leave it on and let it seep beneath your skin, like an amazing album is supposed to.

We kick things off with a Friday night late show at Pony (you know, the 2am slot, which means that it's technically Saturday) on February 11th.  After we drag our sorry selves back onto our Sydney-bound plane, we'll be taking the stage at the Oxford Arts Factory Gallery Bar for the first of our Staurday night residencies in Feb.  That means we'll be smashing songs, gear, and beers for three Saturdays in a row, and it's all FREE.  All you have to do is buy yourself and your mates a few beers and you should be set for the weekend.  So, on the 12th, 19th, & 26th of Feb, I'd say your schedule is set. 

And the latest news has confirmed that we'll be doing an all ages show for YADA YADA night at Port Panthers on Wednesday, Feb 23, as well making a return to Melbourne on Friday the 25th for a show at the ESPY in the basement.
